Breakout groups

Names for the Breakout Group for Conversation

Given that we are talking about the issue of migration the topics of stereotypes, misunderstandings and false beliefs cannot be far away.

So the breakout teams will be called after peoples that the Ancient Greeks imagined existed.  All were probably based on some bit of truth or maybe an encounter that was exaggerated or embellished. We can see the same process happening today

And it is fitting that we are using Greek names given the situation in modern Greece today

So the following will be the tribal groups

1.Blemmyes

....and the Headless (Akephaloi) men that have their eyes in their chests....

Blemmyes from the Nurenburg Chronicle 1493

2. Panotioi

...the natives have very large ears covering the whole of their bodies, which are otherwise left naked.

Panotian from the Nurenburg Chronicle 1493

3. Skiapodes

Androgyne from the Nurenburg Chronicle 1493

....Ethiopian or Indian men who had a single giant foot which they raised in the air to shade themselves against the hot southern sun.

4. Nuloi

Nulus from the Nurenburg Chronicle 1493

.....people with their feet turned backwards and with eight toes on each foot.
